Come to a welcoming yoga class where you will feel comfortable in your body just as it is today. This class is appropriate for beginners, as well as more experienced students who want a good, solid foundation in yoga basics.

There are currently no tickets available for this event, but you can still make a donation.

Each class will focus on:

  • safe and healthy body alignment
  • fundamental seated, standing and reclining yoga poses
  • breath awareness
  • relaxation techniques
  • simple, short forms of meditation

Sign up for the 6-week series and receive one individual session with Sheila (out of the class) to further your body awareness and develop a practice customized to your individual needs.

Bio:Sheila Lazier, MS, RYT has been practicing yoga since 2000 and has her 200-hour yoga-teacher certification from Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Kripalu means being compassionate in Sanskrit, and the foundation of Kripalu yoga is nonjudgmental self-awareness. Sheila is a member of the Kripalu Yoga and Ayurveda Association, a registered Yoga Alliance (the national yoga registry) teacher, and has a M.S. in Adult Education.

Sheila is currently teaching yoga at the Osage Forest of Peace and Beacon Yoga Studio in Tulsa.

Cost: $60 for 6-week series (includes one private class) or drop-in for $10 per class (on-site registration: cash or check only).

What to bring: yoga mat, foam blocks and a strap (if you own them) and a friend. A limited supply of mats and props will be available.
