45 Donors for 45th Year

Hello, Forest friend.

We are so excited and hopeful about the future of the Forest, and we’d love for you to be an important part of it.

Vision of our founders

2025 will mark the 45th anniversary of when the Forest was dedicated as a monastery by the original six Benedictine sisters, led by Sr. Pascaline Coff, in 1980.

The sisters were guided by a vision of uniting seekers from around the world as One Heart. And the heart of love that continues to feed the work of the Forest offers people like you with renewal, refuge, and healing, held inside this sacred canopy of trees.

Who we are today

Today, we continue the legacy and vision of the sisters by creating space at the Forest for you all to encounter the Divine Presence in your own ways. To be held in love by One Heart in a world that feels more divisive than ever.

Our residential community is small but mighty. We do not have a monastic identity, but we are all committed to the core values and mission of the Forest.

We, your Forest stewards, are well aware of the vital role the Forest plays in our community, of creating a space of safety, nourishment, and shelter. Like a harbor of hope in the trees.

Every week we welcome a new arrival of guests. Individuals who are broken with grief, who need some quiet time away, or who are hungering for connection and community, to share a meal at our table.

The groups who come exemplify a rich diversity of spiritual paths. The Tulsa Zen Sangha has a monthly home here with their Day of Zen. Our festivals celebrating the thresholds of the year, such as the summer solstice, have become a meaningful way to collectively connect with cyclical nature in a very linear world.

Many more private groups come here to gather together and dream, grow, heal, grieve, recover, dance, drum, knit, chant, create, be silent, be joyful.

Frequently you, our guests, tell us how your hearts are full and connected from your time here. You’ve found your people. You’re not as isolated. You’re restored and refreshed.

We have big dreams for how we can continue to create and sustain this precious and vibrant space for you, for years to come.

Together, with you, and with our board of directors, we’re birthing the future of the Forest. But we need your help.

45 Donors for the 45th Year

We’re asking you to partner with us for our 45th year and be a group of 45 friends of the Forest who commit to monthly, recurring donations.

Our goal is to gather our group of 45 donors until the end of the year so we start our 45th year strong.

Whether it’s $5 a month, $50 a month, or $500 a month, your donations and support greatly fuel the future of the Forest in many ways, such as:

  • Improving the grounds and buildings for long-term sustainability, as we increasingly face the need to upgrade our 45-year-old infrastructure and the unseen parts of what make the Forest function—things like water heaters, pathways, sidings, and equipment.
  • Hiring and developing quality staff and supporting them to succeed with our mission.
  • Revitalizing programming, especially Forest-sponsored retreats and the School of Spiritual Direction.
  • Reaching out and cultivating relationships with a new and diverse population of guests and friends of the Forest.

Refurbishing our facilities

In particular, we are increasingly receiving the feedback that our facilities are tired and worn. We are making wonderful progress this year with making improvements, but we definitely need your help to freshen up buildings like our cabins.

We are so delighted that some generous donors recently came together and adopted our St. Scholastica cabin, number 10, for a beautiful refurbishment! The cabin got new flooring, paint, fixtures, and water heater, along with gorgeous new curtains, bedspreads, and decorations. This space is now light, bright, joyful, and colorfully soothing.

We do hope you’ll stay in it sometime!

Now this cabin is the model for what we hope to create with our other cabins.

And your recurring donation can definitely make that possible.

Would you be willing to join our dedicated friends of the Forest and help us reach a goal of having 45 total recurring donors to celebrate our 45th anniversary in 2025?

It’s simple.

All you have to do is sign up to give a recurring donation in any amount you choose!

Help us reach 45 donors by December 31, 2024, so we start 2025 strong!

We’d love to welcome you into our One Heart of 45 donors for the 45th year.
